Guidelines for abstract submission

Abstracts for symposium and workshop presentations, oral presentations, and posters should follow the same guidelines. The guidelines are included in this template. Please adhere strictly to the detailed guidelines. Only abstracts written in English will be accepted.

Abstracts of Workshops should be sent to the email address abstractsico2026@gmail.com by the organizer with the email subject: ‘Abstract – last name of the First organizer”. The abstract must be sent as an attached file (uncompressed). In the body of the e-mail, please mention that it is a Workshop.

Abstracts of both oral and poster presentations should be sent to the email address abstractsico2026@gmail.com by the speaker/expositor with the email subject: ‘Abstract – last name of the First author’. Add 1, 2, etc., if the same first author is presenting more than one abstract. E.g. Abstract-Cigliano1.docx. The abstract must be sent as an attached file (uncompressed). In the body of the e-mail, the preferred format (oral or poster session) as well as the preferred thematic area for each presentation must be indicated. However, the Scientific Committee may change the format and/or thematic area of ​​the abstracts depending on the program and the availability of rooms for oral presentations, and will notify the speaker in advance.

Abstracts from presentations included in symposia should be sent to the symposium organizer, who will compile them and send them in a single email to the Scientific Committee (abstractsico2026@gmail.com). In the body of the e- mail, the name of the Symposium must be indicated. All abstracts must be sent as attached files (uncompressed), named as ‘Organizer last name - Symp - Last name of the Speaker’. E.g. ’Williams- Symp - Braun.docx’.

Accepted abstracts will be published in the Abstract Book of the 15 th International Congress of Orthopterology (ICO2026) as a Special Publication of Metaleptea ISSN 2372-2517 (Online), ISSN 2372-2479 (Print).

Conditions of attendance

Important! You must register by the Regular deadline (December 12, 2025) for your abstract to be confirmed. If you do not register by this date, your abstract will be removed from the program.

Symposium and workshop proposals – extended to 15th May, 2025

ICO2026 welcomes the submission of symposium and workshop proposals that fit into any of the thematic areas.

Please complete all details (see instructions and guidelines below) and send the proposal to icorthopterology2026@gmail.com with the email subject: ‘symposium (or workshop) proposal – last name of the organizer’

The deadline for symposium and workshop proposal submissions is May 1st, 2025.

Instructions for Symposium proposals:

  • Each symposium organizer can invite up to 1 co-organizer
  • Each symposium organizer should select one of the thematic areas in which the symposium fits
  • Time for a symposium is 2 hours for one time slot or 4 hours for two time slot. Five or six speakers per 2-hour time slot is preferred. Each presentation should be 20 min including questions (15 min for talk + 5 min for questions). The abstract of each presentation is not necessary yet.
  • Please use this guideline for preparing the symposium proposal:

    • Organizer (s) name (s), affiliation and email address
    • Justification and description (up to 200 words)
    • Speakers: name, affiliation, email address, and tentative topic of the talk

Instructions for Workshop proposals:

  • Each workshop organizer can invite up to 1 co-organizer
  • Each workshop organizer should select one of the thematic areas in which the workshop fits
  • Time for a workshop is 2 hours.
